Our treatments

Our range of holistic treatments promote overall health and wellbeing and acupuncture is at the centre of our services, involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to restore balance and alleviate various ailments. Electroacupuncture enhances this by applying a mild electric current to the needles, intensifying the therapeutic effects. Low-level laser therapy utilizes non-invasive laser light to alleviate pain and stimulate healing in injured or inflamed areas.

For those seeking to enhance their fertility, preconception massage techniques focus on reproductive health and stress reduction. Reflexology, a natural therapy, involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet or hands to improve overall well-being. These diverse treatments empower our clients enabling them to take charge of their health and experience the benefits of alternative therapies.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine practice involving the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body and can assist fertility by influencing various physiological processes in the body.  Whilst more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms for efficacy, acupuncture is understood to assist fertility in the following ways.

  • Enhancing ovarian arterial blood flow improving ovarian function and promoting healthy eggs

  • Stimulating endorphins, promoting wellbeing and reduction of stress

  • Hormonal balancing through regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis thereby helping to regulate cycles and enhance ovarian function.

Studies have shown that acupuncture can have a positive impact on IVF outcomes with research indicating that having acupuncture before and after embryo transfer during IVF cycles can increase the likelihood of pregnancy and live birth.

Electro acupuncture

This a modern acupuncture technique in which electrodes are attached to the shaft of the acupuncture needles. The electrode provides a gentle vibration to the needle and this maintains a continuous stimulation of the acupuncture point.

Studies have demonstrated that elctroacupuncture can regulate hormones for women with PCOS, thickens thin uterine lining, improve blood flow in the pelvis and improve IVF outcomes.

Low level laser therapy

Preliminary studies have shown promising results to optimise both female and male infertility with LLLT, however more clinical research is needed.

A Japanese study used LLLT in women with low or undetectable AMH levels. There was higher pregnancy and live birth rates reported in the study. For women, LLLT is recommended during the lead up to fertilisation, regardless of whether fertilisation is to be achieved via natural or IVF methods.

Clients who would most benefit from LLLT: Low ovarian reserve, poor egg quality, women with advanced reproductive age, multiple implantation failures or miscarriages, hormonal imbalances such as PCOS, Endometriosis, Painful Periods and low sperm motility.

Preconception massage

Preconception massage is a deep pelvic organ / visceral manipulative technique in which the reproductive organs are mobilized.

It optimises lymph and blood flow in the pelvis. Organ restrictions are relieved and movement replenished amongst the organs and surrounding structures to enhance their natural and most optimal position and function.

The massage aims to optimize health and wellbeing within the female pelvis. This gentle and non- invasive technique is beneficial for women of all ages facing fertility challenges, pelvic pain and pelvic/gynaecological surgery recovery.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a relaxing treatment that focuses on stimulating pressure areas on the feet to promote whole body wellbeing.

It is an incredibly relaxing treatment and whilst there is limited scientific evidence to support the direct role of reflexology in enhancing fertility, it is believed to have an indirect positive impact on reproductive health through stress reduction, hormonal balancing, and relaxation of the pelvic muscles.
